Random Thoughts On Truth

The fragility of truth lies in its inherent tendency to be non-assertive as well as its subjectivity to ever changing circumstances and situations in an often chaotic and unstable world. It’s feebleness is also due to the immense power behind half truths or partial truths or things that could be true given a set of circumstances. My dilemma concerning Truth on a grand, absolute and universal scale is this: Does Perfect Truth or Truth in its entirety and in its definitive form exist in terms of a reality which is lacking in anything close to perfection? In reality, truth is fragmented and dispersed according to circumstances.

Following along those lines, I would venture in saying that truth is a force comparable to the force of gravity in terms of its presence being dependent upon a number of factors. Gravity may exist on the earth and it may be reality to us in our present circumstance but once we cross into the threshold of space, I would venture to say that gravity doesn’t exist in that circumstance and is not applicable in determining the reality which is the void of space.

The force of truth can also be likened to the force of gravity in that there is not one kind of gravity. Gravity is a force in concept but there are variations of that concept in that the Sun has its own gravity or gravitational pull which competes directly with the gravity belonging to the planets within its orbit. It is also important to note that gravity is the product of the composition of the heavenly bodies. With that in mind, does truth define a circumstance or do circumstances define the truth? In other words, which came first? The truth or the circumstance?

A quick example would be the issue of killing. Is it right or wrong to kill? First thing to note is that this question is a false dilemma in that it limits the person to two choices rather than bringing in a host of alternatives that may exist. Someone might say it is wrong to kill, but would that person think it is wrong to kill if it was in a case of or in terms of self defense? What is true is dependent upon the circumstance in regards to whether the question of whether it is right or wrong. For instance, killing maybe right for a person if it is in self defense, but is wrong for someone with the intent of killing a person.
